Farewell Tour
It seems that life is a series of hello-goodbyes. With our Western thinking, things move in straight lined dichotomies: day to night, young to old, birth to death. Yet, perhaps things are more flowing? We move through life carrying all the past as we embrace the new day. It's not clear cut.
The first time I saw the Maritimes, was in 1972. We had camped our way across from Saskatchewan in a 1970 VW Westphalia, complete with pop-up roof and 2 hammock beds for Tanya and Aron, then 5 and 3 respectively. Since that initial visit, we have repeated the adventure 3 times flying, and once in a Honda Fit in 2011. Just the two of us and our little black cockapoo, Ebony. Each time I loved the scenery, the music and the friendly welcoming people. It seems to me, Maritimers have us beat when it comes to hospitality.
Now, one more time, we will travel by camper and sample new delights, while revisiting old favourites. If you want to follow along, you're welcome.
With the call of the road, we leave tomorrow morning bright and early.
Be well, my friends. See you in fall.
Maritimers do have is beat in hospitality.
